The Phenix Center for Economic and Informatics Studies has called for the establishment of a national system that guarantees a minimum income for older people who do not receive any pension or regular source of income. The Center stressed that the presence of older people without regular income represents one of the most significant gaps in Jordan’s social protection system, making them more vulnerable to poverty, isolation, violence, and exploitation.

The International Labour Conference, at its 114th Session held in Geneva in June 2026, adopted a new Convention on Decent Work in the Platform Economy, marking the first international instrument of its kind aimed at regulating working conditions in the platform economy and safeguarding the fundamental rights of digital platform workers.

Jordanian Labor Watch has warned that a range of accumulated economic and social indicators observed in Jordan over recent years suggest a significant increase in child labor compared to the levels documented by the last comprehensive national field survey conducted in 2016.
