Labor Watch / J.T. - Merchants and engineers protested on Monday against the 2011 Landlords and Tenants Law.
During a sit-in held in front of the Professional Associations Complex, they called for cancelling Article 5 of the law, which requires long-standing tenants and their landlords to negotiate new rental fees or, if they cannot agree on a new rate, to have it determined by a court.
In a statement, the demonstrators asked the government and Parliament to reconsider the law in order to avert its adverse effects on them and the service sector.
